  • Scope and Content
    (i) to (ii) in consideration of rents and convenants: the same as in AD3764 except that all timber, hedges, roots, and lopps of trees + free liberty of ingress and egress to (i) and his heirs, saving that (ii) may take all plashings and shreddings of hedges and lopp and topp willows etc., but not oaks, ashes, elms, and thorn bushes. Ditches to be scoured. (i) may take away the wheat hovel at will (ii) to have and to hold these from the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel for the term of 9 years at £108 - 6s. p.a. + £5 for every acre plow'd, digg'd or broken up. fences to be maintianed; dung must be spread in good husbandly manner. the wheat-hovel of late belonged to Matthew Dennis Esq. hedges and willows may be cut for hedgeboots and fireboots, but not sold. the tenants must set and plant 12 willows, 6 elms, and 6 ashes, and pay all parochial dues. attched: terriers ('Bass, his account of his farm'; fields described with their acreages) a list of arable and leyes acreages; breakdown of the annual rent of £108 - 6s; and a list of politicians' names. - dated 1681, 1682.
