- Scope and Content(i) to (ii): ---- a tenament with garden and a close in the parish of St. Paul's, in Welstreat next to the common lane called Colles Lane on the west, the cottage of William Forde and one toft belonging to William Hall and Elizabeth his wife in iure of the same Elizabeth; one orchard belonging to the King and a pyghtle belonging to Gilbert Smythe on the east; abutting on the north on a cottage of William Forde and on a common green (Allhallows Green), and on the south on the said road - all of which was bought by (i) from Richard Riseley, late of Bedford, senior, on May 13, 37 Henry 8 (1545). ad opus et usum of (ii). warranty clause witnesses: John Williams alias John Scotte mayor of Bedford; Thomas Hewet depuuty of Roger Tettlaw steward; Henry Laughton & Henry Crofte bailliffs of the town.
