    Arthur Wyvil Baldwin (1894-1969) was the son of Arthur Henry Baldwin of 42 Bushmead Avenue, Bedford. He qualified as a barrister at law Middle Temple and in 1912 became one of HM Inspector of Taxes serving at Bedford and then later at Luton and after 1932 at Bloomsbury. He married Miss Rose Winifred Bowstead in Elstow in 1932 and the couple then set up home in Harpenden. While at Bedford Mr Baldwin took part in musical and dramatic activities in the town and became knows for his sketches.
