  • Scope and Content
[to Ann at the Revd T Milnes] Description of visit to the Fydells who wished we might go with them to the Music meeting at Stamford knowing that W: G [Hugh Wade-Gery] is fond of music. Went on Monday morning in our grand carriage and our own horses with James and William in their new liverys (you did not think that we were such dashers) and breakfasted at Alconbury - stopped at Wansford to rest our horses and got to Tickencote by half past four. Very well entertained at music meeting at Stamford and saw many of our friends - Dr and Mrs Bonney, Mrs Perry, Mr and Mrs Hardyman, Mr and the two Miss Barkers of Lyndon, Miss Day, Mr and Miss Clarke. Mr Brown was so much pleased with Mr Wade-Gery's calling that the next day he called upon him at Tickencote a distance of 3 miles which is a great way for a man turned 80 to walk. Called on Barkers at Lyndon. Bob [Robert Wade-Gery] did duty at Lilley for Frederic [Dawson] last Sunday week . (This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
