- Scope and ContentObliged for kind letter. Loss of our dear Tom [Thomas Wade-Gery] was very afflicting indeed. It was a great comfort to see him so thoroughly resigned to the will of God. Have had a letter from your sister [Catherine] Raynes. Glad Doctor Chaloner is getting on well in his profession. Hester [Dawson, nee Wade-Gery] and her baby have been with us. Mrs Beauford is very ill indeed. Glad your brothers are at Beckingham with you. (This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
