  • Scope and Content
Boulogne. You will no doubt be astonished to hear from me, but my daughter [Charlotte] Selina now travelling with Dorothy in Wales, I should much like her to pay you a visit before she returns to France, you being the only aunt she has never seen - She met at Carnarvon a relative of ours, Sir Stephen Glyn, who was very kind to Dorothy and her. My son Frederick has lately been introduced to the Duke of Wellington and others at the Horse Guards. Have promised that he shall be appointed to his Fathers old Regiment, the 42nd without purchase, as soon as he shall have attained the proper age. In the mean time Freddy is going on a visit for four months with the Duke de Chisel's family to Paris. He is busy learning German. My little Ada goes to school - clever and musical. Raynes begs to be kindly remembered. I hear Charles is busy reparing his house. Mary Charlotte [Milnes, sister] has invited me, but I do not think I can leave home, for I have already been in England twice this year.
