Cooke; abutting east on Leach Green; abutting also on one side on the site of a cottage and pightle late occupied by Praise Noel; other side land leading to Wood End Green, Kempston; recites:- Lease & release 28,29, July 1740 (i) Nicholas Blick (ii) Elizabeth Karry, widow. (ii) George Bateman Lawley (iv) Sir Robert Lawley bart. (v) Christopher Denton & John Glass, gents. (vi) Willism Coleman esq. & David Thomas -- cottage and pightle as above, occupied by John Shaw & William Cumberland respectively, conveyed to William Coleman; also:- will of William Coleman 7 Jan. 1760, & codicil: devised to son Baker Coleman property in Wootton, subject to payment of £2000 to daughter Mary Coleman; also:- death of Baker Coleman, a bachelor, 1770; sister Mary took out letters of administration 1790. also:- will of Mary Coleman 27 October 1784 (d.1796) devised to Mary Stapleton; also:- recovery recently suffered by Mary Stapleton; witnesses: Theed Pearse, Theed Pearse jr.
