VI, 1548 or 1549); (ii) Grant from Smith to William Groome (as in terrier, 1549); (iii) Conveyance of William Groome to Richard Dolte of Hempstedd; and a Fine, 1567; (iv) Death of Richard Dolte, leaving son Robert Dolte; (v) Grant, 1600, of Robert Dolte and Ralph Dolte (son), to Thomas Impey; and a Fine; (vi) Feoffment to uses, 1614, of Thomas Impey, junior, to Samuel & Godfrey Impey (sons), leading use of:- a messuage called St. John's Hospital, closes called Moatebanke Close, Ley Close, & Megges Bonners, in Hockliffe; Tillsworth Grove, Tilsworth Leys & 9 ac. in Tilsworth; & 26 ac. in Chalgrave; to use of Samuel Impey, & failing issue, to Godfrey Impey; (vii) Fine levied by Samuel Impey & Godfrey Impey, c.1620. (A note that certain deeds are with Martha Judson (mother to Thomas Impey, infant son of Thomas Impey, eldest son of the purchaser), living in Mills' Buildings next door to Clements Inn back gate).
