Letter to Ann Wade-Gery from James Grubbe

Stanton St Bernard. To Mademoiselle Milnes, Vienna. In reply to letter on Charlotte's death. Died at Bath on 15th August, 6 days after her confinement. Fever. Boy also died. Uncle [Charlotte's father Thomas Milnes] dreadfully cut up. Eleanora every day growing more interesting. My mother [Mary Grubbe] at Bath. My brother Tom has taken to his old profession and joined the 39th Regt. My brother John who belongs to the 76th is in Jersey. (This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
