- TitleAnnual report. Mixed School: the order and tone are good and creditable work has been done in a somewhat difficult year. Reading is wanting in expression, the object lessons and English require much improvement, and in arithmetic and the oral lessons the children show a want of self-reliance and independent effort. The present desks should be gradually superseded. Infants’ class: the instruction of the third class and the object lessons require attention, but there has been improvement in this division, especially in the teaching of arithmetic. Drill, singing and Kindergarten are good and the discipline is praiseworthy. K Whiteman continues under Art 68. Attached: receipt from the Education Department for certificated teachers’ contributions to Deferred Annuity Fund in respect of John G Wall for nine months contributions, April to December 1899, which amount has been deducted from the grant.
