- Scope and ContentCharles Stockdale Benning, solicitor aged 43 has resided and practised as a solicitor for 18 years and upwards. Was an intimate friend of George Fossey, late of Dunstable who died 11 March 1863 a bachelor and intestate. Had received instructions to prepare a will but Fossey died before this was completed. Was then employed by Robert Fossey, who claimed to be heir at law, to trace his descent and prove his pedigree in order to establish the claim. Gives detailed account of the results of his investigations
