    -- Messuage & Farmhouse in Steeple Morden occupied by (ii) with lands appurtenant, viz: Orchard Pightell, Cowclose, Mead- close, Barne Pightell (8acres), Cow meade (5acres), Jeeves Close & Hall Close (4acres), Barns Pightell (1 1/4acres), Little Close (3/4 acre), parcels in Townes land (16 3/4acres 'Every Yeer's Land'.) parcels in Northbrooke field with the Sheepwalke and foldage' (163acres), Reaburns lands (29acres) (Timber rights & 'Shreddings' reserved. (i) & right of entry. Rent to be paid at mansion house of (i) at Steeple Morden. Extra rent of £10 for pasture converted into tillage by (ii). (ii) to pay 'all Towne rates and parish dues and duties as well to the Church as poor.' (except King's Taxes on Landlords - paid by (i), disbursed by (ii) and abatement to (ii) from reserve rent.) After 25 March, 1722 (i) 'to enter upon... so many of the lands as then ought to lye fallow to till dress dung & manure the same against the Season then next following and then and their to have Conveniencys for a Stable for horses and Lodging for servants. And alsoe to feed depasture fold and keepe his & their Sheepe upon the said fallow lands headlands and grass' without reduction of (i)'s rent. (ii) not to 'alter any of the sesons' of above lands 'nor take above two Cropps Togeather' from them 'without a Summer fallow' except 'every year's lands.' (ii) every yr. 'to lay in Barne... all the Cropp of Corne Graine and hey' and to lay dung 'where there shall be most need .... in good Husband like manner'. If (ii) carries corn elsewhere to be paid for by 'so much Compost dust or Marle.' (ii) can convert into tillage part of Reaburns lands - 'which Abel Clynton decd. his late Father plowed in his lifetime. Soe as he or they take no more than three Cropps of Corne and graine therefrom' during 1st. 7 yrs. of lease. 4 yrs. before its expiration (ii) 'to lay the same down againe with such grass seed as is usuall and So leave it as it was before.' (ii) to cut yearly plashings of hedges & customary pollards etc. and to cut wood from bushes for repairing fences, hedges etc. To be cut at sesonable times and so there is 9 yrs. growth from last plashing & lopping. Hedges to be scoured at plashing. (i) to provide necessary rough timber. (ii) to have use and benefit of yard & barns until May 1st. after end of lease to thrash grain of last year's crop and to lodge 2 servants there & have stabling for horses.
