George Cressy law of Eaton Bray by will dated the 25th day of February 1684 gave to his wife Anne for her life his messuage & close in Eaton Bray & 6 acres of land which he had by & with his wife and also his other messuage in Eaton. To hold to her for life and afterwards to James Cresy his son, the messuage wherein Wm Pedder then dwelt with a part of the close next to the said messuage so far as the walnut tree on condition to pay to John Cressy his eldest son 40 £ within one year after mothers death. Wife executrix. Note that James Cressy paid the 40£ to John before the death of the mother and John released his right to James but being before the mothers death it was not good therefore a new release was obtained from John when James sold the land to Richard Ashwell. Anne Cressy widow and relict of George Cressy by her will of 25 May 1698 gave to George Cressy her son all her goods and chattells and made him sole executrix. Proved 15 October 1698. Note some of the mothers land appeared to be leashold therefore when it was sold George Cressy the son joined with James in the conveyance.
