  • Scope and Content
Written at Harrold. ...I was glad to receive yours. Nothing very important has occurred since you left. May had tea with me one day she says to me, "You are Mama Aunty". She is a very good child and so is Agnes. They are both well and very happy today it looks stormy and it has thundered; still the weather is very delightful for the Corn. Mr.[?] and Mrs.[?] Biss[?] and family came on Saturday. I tried to persuade Ellen to call at the Manor on Monday with her Mama but she preferred going in the boat. I am very sorry not one of them have yet been. Caleb is very poorly so few of the Chapel friends have called. I did hope they would have paid Uncle that respect. He drove Aunt to Milton one morning Susan and I call Wednesday evening. Mrs. Church and her son were there. They have all been from Wollaston. Aunt was down three times on Sunday the children and I went up to tea with Mr. Sanders. The service in the tent made our galleries very empty. We had two very excellent sermons. I begin to fear Mr. Owen’s sermons are not just what the people generally would appreciate. I went to the tent Tuesday night; heard two good addresses. They were great numbers on Sunday. Mrs. Henry Chapman and sister came on Tuesday. Mr. Smithard[?] spoke on the green last night. I should much like to join but as I am getting busy must give it up. I hope both Mrs. Sanders and you will both be benefited by the change. My love to you all. Yours sincerely....
