- Scope and ContentDenton. [to Miss H. Gery, Bushmead Priory]. Entertaining letter gave me great pleasure. My Grandfather quite recovered. Mr Gery took my brother up to Cambridge a fortnight since, where he was admitted fellow commoner in Emmanuel. Deep snow has stopped hunting. Your description of the St Neots Ball very pleasing. Glad you was so fortunate as to meet with a smart Partner. I find you have a scarcity of Beaux in Bedfordshire as well as us in Lincolnshire. Last concert rather better than the first, for we raised a dance of fourteen couple which was very capital at Grantham. My partner Mr Hall a clergyman. Mrs de Butts dined here on Christmas day. The little girl christened about a fortnight since, and I stood godmother for my Aunt Monoux. The Bell rings for Church and the Letter Girl intends going home before we return. Happy returns of the New Year. Love to your sisters and excuse my short silly scrawls. (This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
