- Scope and ContentWelbourn. [to Mrs. Wade Gery, Bushmead Priory] My brother was at Eaton in his road from Devonshire, but couldn't manage a visit to the Priory. Congratulations on recovery of little boy from inoculation. Glad Mr. Gery like Kimbolton. Present of pony to grandson must give pleasure. Sister and Dr. De Butts still in America. Climate of place they now are - Sharpsburge - much like England. Town contains about 200 houses chiefly inhabited by dutch. Miss Welbys sight not better. William a fine boy - Penelope a sweet little child. Cathrine the youngest could just run. Neighbours Mr and Mrs. Reeve at Belvoir Castle to celebrate Duke of Rutlands coming of age, Mr. and Mrs. Welby with 8 of their sons and daughters. Clothes. Friend Ward wrote from St. Helena.
