This school was created in 1875 and in 1877 divided into Shefford Board Boys’ School and Shefford Board Girls’ School, reuniting to form Shefford Board Mixed School in 1900. A separate Infants Department was created in 1891, amalgamating with the Mixed School in 1930. The School became successively Shefford Council Mixed School (1903), Shefford Primary School (1946) and Shefford Lower School (1979).
