Scope and Content
The deeds relate chiefly to Totternhoe; several farms however included lands lying in both parishes.
System of arrangement
The order in which the catalogue has been based is the date of purchase by the Earl of Bridgwater and the Earls Brownlow (the purchases extending from 1811 to 1883, together with severl exchanges on the Parliamentary Enclosure in 1891). The only bundle out of order is that containing 305-321 and relating to Manor Farm (or Middle End Farm), which has been catalogued after the other Manor Farm deeds, 270-304.
