    Mr. J. A., a law student, has been staying with writer, mother, and Caroline. Had visit from Mrs. Box and her son, George, and wife. Mr. Box had business at Wells. Went with Mr. Honeywood to the play last Thursday to see, "Mrs Siddons in Lady Mackbeth but I was disappointed in her being grown so large..." went to Sidney Gardens with Mrs Crofts and her son and heard band, "but nothing could a charm impart, 'for Stupidity laid heavy at his heart'... even Caroline... agrees with me in thinking him too clever to be agreeable" Had a round game on Tuesday evening with company. Is glad to hear Theresa's baby has had whooping cough so favourably. Went to Mrs Manhood's party on Wednesday evening and describes it.
