Scope and Content
Thanks John. for fish, gave one to Mrs Greaves and family. "I think you are wrong if you have offer'd your services to go at any great distance from your own concerns, the Volunteer Corps about the Metropolis have refused to go, but in case of actual Invasion, they certainly were intended to support the civil power, being well known & respected in their several situations, upon an emergency many would act with them, that would not join a regular Army, I hope & trust there will be no occasion for the services of either." Assures John of friendship of Mr Jacob Warner who believes expence of repairs [to Turvey Bridge] would fall on John.
