- TitleSolemn Declaration of John Goff, Harrold, farmer: that his father, John Goff deceased, had on a mortgage by George Cox on 3 Jan 1825 to secure £300 and interest, a messuage or tenement and premises (with a small cottage then adjoining thereto which has long since been pulled down) adjoining the Cross Keys Public House then in the occupation of George Cox (which messuage with some addition thereto erected on the site of the said cottage are now occupied by Hillyard Nichols, a corndealer); that on 3 Jan 1828 a further charge of £100; and that as both the capital sums and interest were owing to him, in September 1829 he entered on the premises and remained in possession until his death in December 1839, and that on his father's death, he entered into possession and received the rents of the premises.
