- TitleLetter from Arthur F Pope to Messrs Hooper & Fletcher.
- Date free text14 August 1907
- Production dateFrom: 1907 To: 1907
- Scope and Content‘Before signing the agreemt I should like to know why Mr Nichols should have the pwer to draw £100 for a debt of £73? I mention this because in working this out at Compound interest I find that at 5% it will be 1913 before it becomes straight & if mrs Pope should die before that time he will have made a profit – In a business point of view the assignment is wrong, but if for private reasons it is better to let it go through as it is I am quite agreeable & will sign with pleasure, but it is worth a question, altho’ I can anticipate the reply. You must also bear in mind that as my brother & myself have to pay the premiums a policy for £75 would have been cheaper than one for £100 – what I should have suggested would have been an assignment of £75 of the £100 insured. It is a small thing & it does not matter but there is equity in it all the same – perhaps he was tried with £75 & refused… PS nobody knows but that £25 might be useful if something unforeseen should happen I will do whatever you wish with pleasure.’
