Has been ill with flue for the last month. ‘…I have asked Mr Chambers to forward you Mr George Pope’s a/c for collection & I shall be obliged if you will press this matter. I hear that Mrs Maud Pope has been left some money. Would not this be a good time to get rid of that guarantee to the bank. I don’t like it hanging over the business.’
