Letter from W Chambers to Hooper & Fletcher. Re. money put into the business by Mrs Pope. The Potton Brewery ‘was formed in 1893 and Mrs Pope put in either £400 or £500. She had no dividend or interest these were added to Capital – In Sept 1901 the shares were sold to Mr James Manning of Potton for £1250 – this was put into the business & made Mrs Pope’s loan up to £1750 as it now stands.’
