Re. guarantors to George Pope, Chaundler’s account, field at Biggleswade ‘hold at present’, Sale of business ‘we are carrying it on as usual & the gross profits look all right, but I am too far away to look into things properly.’ Continuing to hold the London Stand Mark Lane ‘as I think probably purchaser of the business might will to have it, as there are so few stands to be had & it gives a firm a certain standing, any one taking it might let half of it. Its very useful in the barley & seed trade. The rent is about £30 a year…’
