Admin/biog history
The photographic unit was available to all departments of the County Council. It was particularly used by the records office (for copying documents), property and environment (e.g. for recording historic buildings at risk) and for publicity purposes. The negatives that were held by the unit (rather than having been handed over to the commissioning department) were transferred to the record office when the unit closed in 1997. There are job books and indexes although they are a limited.
