    Abbey building & repairs (architect Henry Holland) ; Stewards - William Bodinson & William Jones. An account of workmen's bills and disbursements for the building and repairs at Woburn Abbey commencing November 24th 1787. Includes a list of workmen and purchases with a number next to them corralating to the voucher bundle number. Building and repairs included in the account book: - Brickworks at kennels - Digging out ponds - Making ditches and repair fences - Drains for the ice well - Straw thatching for the hovels - Work in the Pleasure Ground - Henry Holland's commission for making designs and drawings, surveying and directing the works - Digging foundations for the laundry - Furniture for the grooms new apartments - Cleaning 15,000 old bricks - Mending and repairing road to Totternhoe Quarry - John Wing's mason work at the house, stables, new wash house and laundry, new kennel, poultry and kitchen garden - WIlliam Hawke's mason work on house and alterations to South Front and stud grooms house - Henry Wood's mason work on a new greenhouse, new larder in the shrubbery and the house. - John Rentham's bricklayers work on house, stables (north and south quadrangle), laundry and brewhouse, larder in the shrubbery, stud groooms house, new kennel and paddocks - Work on the greenhouse, North & South quadrangle, larder, kennel, poultry, brewhouse, laundry and stud grooms. - Richard Westmacott for a marble chimney pice - Work at kilns Also includes travel expenses, expenses for tools and wages.
