    Counterpart lease for 11 years: (1) The Corporation of Bedford (2) John Sugar of the Parish of St Peter Martin, Bedford, husbandman. Lease by (1) to (2) for 11 years from Michaelmas next of all those several pieces of arable land (4 acres in all). Two acres of which consist of six selions in Windmill Field, Bedford: North - land late of Richard Bell, esquire; South - land of the Corporation now in occupation of Mrs Dorothy Willis; East - land of Mr John Hawes, now in occupation of Mr Thomas Field. The other two acres consisting of six selions in Conduit Field, Bedford: East and North - land belonging to the Fryars Farm; South - land of the Corporation in occupation of Mrs Ann Okely; West - Biddenham Baulk. Annual rent: 36s. payable at Michaelmas and Lady Day. Witnesses: Thomas Tooby, mark of Elizabeth Tooby. Signature: John Sugar
