- Scope and ContentReply to FR/3/7/8/1 regarding Thomas White and wife, settled in Kings Langley. Debts were discharged before they left us, except a small one, which remains unsettled. Have no knowledge of their affairs in London; it was reported some considerable time after they left that White was in the Kings Bench, but no application was made from him. Had the information been known, would have endorsed the certificate and returned it. They had one child when they left us; not mentioned in the certificate as a young child has the right to settlement where their parents belong. Consider that White went to Kings Bench to take benefit of the Act to deal with his debts. Consider that in equity the debts are still incumbent upon him. Sorry that White and family negligent in attending meetings. As they are now under the notice of Albans, recommend them to your care; Cannot be responsible for their actions since they left us.
