- Scope and ContentWilliam Francis, a Journeyman shoemaker of Luton in Bedfordshire, was committed to Bedford Goal [Gaol] the 19th of November 1707, by a Writ De Excommunicato capiendo for about Four pence, Demanded for Easter offerings at the suit of Chris Eaton, Vicar. The Charge of this Poor Man's commitment came to about Eight Pounds, and he still remains a close Prisoner; Summary of Sufferings at back of book (N.B.
