(1) covenant that they will grant to (2) of common of pasture in the way and ground lying in St Pauls, Bedford, in length from a stone mark lying against Gebons Forth over to the north Flode gates there as Port Mill stood, and in length from the said flood gates to a cross called Knyghtys Crosse ... ; with permission to set willows there, with lop and top; covenant by (1) that if they make any pits for clay, stones or gravel anywhere in Bedford except the Marshe in the parish of St Cuthbert which is now enclosed by (1), they will refill said pits within 2 years of digging them; (1) will henceforth only exercise rights of common on said ground when land called the Seale is fallow; (2) covenant that (1) shall always have free passage; (1) covenant not to take action for trespass if cattle of (2) stray.
