    Mortgage by Demise for 99 years Parties: (i) Walter Gray of Pertenhall, gentleman; William Rushton of Middle Temple, London, gentleman; (ii) Humfrey Newton the younger of All Souls College, Oxford, gentleman Reciting: - bargain and sale of 20 Nov 1644 between (1) Humfrey Newton the elder, Humfrey Newton the younger, and their trustees Sir William Boteler of Biddenham, Onslow Wynche of Everton [Huntingdonshire], esquire, Thomas Rolt of Milton Ernest [Earnes], esquire, William Doughty of Lincolns Inn [Middlesex], gentleman and Thomas Doughty, gentleman and (2) Walter Gray and William Rushton granting (a)-(i) to (2) for 99 years at a peppercorn rent Operative Part - (i) leased (a)-(i) to (ii) Property: (a) capital messuage and manor of the late dissolved Caldwell Priory; (b) Grove Close lying near (a); (c) "all waters lands commons of pasture and fishing in and upon the river of Owse anciently belonging to the said Priory of Caldwell"; (d) seven beds of osiers and a barn called the tithe barn; (e) parcels of meadow dispersed in the Hame Meadow, Kempston containing fifteen acres; (f) cottage in Cauldwell Street formerly in the occupation of Huett; (g) cottage in Cauldwell Street formerly in the occupation of Dyveacre; (h) cottage in Cauldwell Street formerly in the occupation of Bunion; (i) cottage formerly in the occupation of Sharp Habendum - to (ii) for the remainder of the 99 year term providing he paid £268/13/4 on 10 Dec 1645 Witnesses: - William Salford; - Edward Crewes "at Dukes place"; - James Gould
