- Scope and ContentReads- Further comments on sale at Eversholt. Am expecting to hear from Swanborough. I can't tell how Willington sluice will stand - the water has never been low enough since we last finished. Ben Twitchell still alive; best for you to write to Lord Ludlow about his bro.'s affairs. What do you think of Lord St. John's declaration of non-interference with his tenantry? followed by discharging Lugsdin (?) from his brick & tile yd, at Riseley, he being the only tenant who voted for Ld.C.Russell & Sir P.Payne. Lord St. John says electioneering has nothing to do with it, but his agents recommended him to take brickmaking into his own managemt. Possibility of Duke making something of his clay as well as Lord St. John Oakley school dilapidated - belongs to parish. Duke gave £100 to repairs in 1802. Estimate for a new one. Land, 17 acres bel. to parish (principal means of paying master's salary) has been farmed by old Campion till it is exhausted.
