Reads- Saw Ben Twitchell yesterday; his brother's estate - steps to deal with. Short's view of him. Connected with Cobb of Woburn. Going to Chenies. I much doubt the cold land farmers who havea any property left will leave us; so completely disheartened spirits completely broken down. Topham here yesterday, but his a different case - want of capital. Wilden will again want a tenant. I firmly believe a great deal of the cold land in this county will be totally abandoned - it is a melancholy state of affairs.
