    Also contains memoranda, including: - (inside front cover) notes of collections on briefs [1666]; - (among birth entries) note on election of John Fitzhue, gent., as parish register for Wilden, 16 May 1653, signed by Richard Wagstaff JP; - (at end) note of induction of Rev.Jasper Fisher as rector [9 Apr 1625]; - collection on brief for Marlborough [Wiltshire] [1653]; - copy order of John Rolt of Milton [Ernest], Lord of the Manor of Wilden, concerning cottages in Wilden and agreeing that all inhabitants should “dwell as they now do” but that “new erected cottages” [i.e. on the waste] should be pulled down on the death or departure of the inmates or cottagers and all houses to have “but one dweller” [1608]; - notes on the school built in 1624 by Thomas Peete with the names and dates of admission of 14 schoolmasters [1624-1786]
  • Note: There is no register for the period 1678-1734. The registers are not itemised in the glebe terriers of 1708, 1822 or 1828 (as is the case for some parishes), but the 1831 Parish Register Abstract includes a list of the Wilden registers and shows that the volume for 1678-1734 was already missing by 1831
