Memorandum [not enclosed] on regulation of Whitbread's department.: Reads- Since you left Abbey I have thought of someone to superintend the works in the Park: William Gregory who lives in the lodge & now superintends the woods at Wavendon, Aspley etc.; very intelligent, unassuming, active, industrious, sober, honest, about 40; does not know draining however. If he is moved I would put John Henley jr. in his place (one of Ireland's men, very competent, steady). Sent list of extra works to Duke. Forbes wants a new pit before the greenhouses, using the old lights from those houses in front of the ridingho now in dangerous state. Stabling in yard.
