To kinsmen Jos. Cooper of Tebworth, yeo. and Wm. Grant of Eggington, yeo. - £400 on trust to buy freehold estate from which profits should be equally distributed between poor of Hockliffe and Chalgrave "for the encouragement of Literature and Learning. That they the said Poor sort of Inhabitants may be enabled .... to put forth and set the respective Children to School to learn to read and Write and to Cloath such of the said poor Children so going to School whose Parents are not of Ability to Cloath them...."If this effect fails and funds are "misimployed" then trustees to use "for the putting and placing out of .... my Poor Relations Children either to such as aforesaid or Apprentices". To kinsmen (above trustees) £10 each. Two or three of testator's 'neighbouring relations' to be nominated when trustee dies. 'Loving friend' Fra. Neale of Ivinghoe, Bucks., gent. to assist trustees.
