Scope and Content
The works to comprise lowering the ground on the south side to expose and repair the plinths, repair of all defective stonework, restoration of walls and roof of the tower and repair of belfry floor, stripping roofs of Nave and Chancel and repair of decayed timbers, removal of plaster ceilings, and covering the whole roof with boarding and felt, new roof on the South aisle, removal of stucco from the Chancel, opening out the North East Chancel window, removal of existing modern vestry, repair of paving, and paving of sitting space with wood blocks, resetting the ancient font and pulpit, opening of ancient archway (now filled in) in the South side of the Chancel and erection of a new Vestry and Organ chamber, removal of organ, and provision of a new heating apparatus, all to the plans and specifications of W.D. Caröe, architect, at an estimated cost of £2355.
