    Reads- Finish work on Wiffin's house, but no new building, or more stalls in stable. Question of surplus workmen. Conversion of Ridgmont House into a farmhouse for the new tenant. Timber in Riding House roofs. Shall be glad of wood money. The Lidlington plan is as bad as possible & must be done away with. The Duke of Richmond told me the commissioners' report on the poor laws would probably contain some suggestion for a general measure - not long now.
