    Recites that William Wells Gardner late of Shortmead, Biggleswade, Esq., died possessed (inter alia) of the close or piece of land at Langford to be assured for a good title herein; will dated 4 Sept. 1856 under which he devised his copyhold estate in Langford in occ. of John Cooper to the use of his nephew 1); death of W.W. Gardner on 14 January 1859; will proved 7 March 1860; admission of E.B. Gardner as copyhold tenant, 20 June 1860; premises offered for sale by auction at the Swan Inn, Biggleswade on 6 July 1860, and 2) was the highest bidder for Lot 4 at £160; purchase money has since been paid to 1) by 2) as Vicar of Langford, for which 1) has surrendered land into the hands of the Lady of the Manor to that 2) may be admitted as customary tenant. - all that pightle of pasture (3r.) at Church End, Langford, formerly the land of Anthony Reynolds gent and Margaret his wife - all that other pightle of pasture lying together with the above, now forming together one close called Townsend close, in occ. of George Kingsley (total 1a. 2r. 14p) on the western side of the road from Langford to Biggleswade, nearly opposite the garden and grounds of the Vicarage.
