    Parties: (i) John York of Lavendon, Buckinghamshire, yeoman (brother and a legatee of Robert York late of Bedford, deceased), and Robert York of Olney, Buckinghamshire (son and heir apparent of John); (ii) John Hallowell of Whitmail Park [Wythemail or Withmale Park], Orlingbury, Northamptonshire, yeoman. Recites will of Robert York of Bedford [grocer], deceased, made 17 October 1742, devising to his wife Elizabeth York (sole executrix), her heirs and assigns, a messuage in the parish of St. Paul, Bedford, then in the occupation of John Harper; also two messuages situate in Castle Lane, parish of St. Paul, Bedford, then in the occupation of Bailey Munns and Mrs. Taylor, together with all his other real and personal estate. He also charged all his estate with £340 for his brother, John (i), to be paid him or his heirs within 6 calendar months of the death of Elizabeth. [For will of Robert York see BLARS ref. ABP/W 1743/26.] (i) are borrowing £300 plus interest from (ii), and bind over their legacy from the estate of the late Robert York as security for the debt. This indenture to be cancelled if (i) pay £306 15s to (ii) by 11 October 1780. Witnesses: - John York; - Robert York Endorsed with note of receipt of payment of £300 from (ii) to (i) (signed); witnessed by William Ashburner and Samuel Robython.
