  • Title
Letter from Tavistock to Adam on raising wages: Reads- in general approves father's policy of not liking to set an example, but "where the case is a clear one, he ought then to be the first, instead of the last. But whether the case is clear in the present instance I am hardly able to say. Bennett & Crocker are better judges. My inclination however is always in favour of higher wages to labourers." Recurs to the Norwich question.
