'the fault - I find, is that the Commissioners have permitted the old line over which they had no control to be stopt up before the new line was rendered passable ...Of course the public will not give up their right consequently they will be compelled for the present to pursue other courses as best they can over the adjoining property and as near as they can on the line of the old original road. Any damage that may ensue must be laid to the Commissioners charge.. 'several necks might be broken between this and the 18th February.'
