    AWARD of ARBITRATORS, Michael Rowed, Cheverolls Green, Flamstead, Herts., gent. and Frederick Gough, Cunningham Hill Farm, St. Peters, St. Albans, Reciting that certain lands to be exchanged hereinafter were comprised in the Settlement of the Marquis and Marchioness of Bute dated 1818, the trustees of the lands being John Lord Bishop of Lincoln (then. the Rev. John Ray, D.D.) and William Stuart, and Reciting an Act of 48 Geo. III for enclosing lands in Luton, and the Award by John Trumper dated 20 Jan. 1810, which after setting out larger allotments, adjudging that the land allotted to the numerous small claims would be too small and expensive to inclose, awarded to those having certain rights of common a plot of ground in one allotment on the S of Lammas Meadow, and this to be laid to land called the Great Moor, cont. by admeasurement 8a. 2r. 10p., to be stocked and depastured in common, subject to certain regulations, and Reciting that trustees as aforesaid, and those entitled to the Moor are desirous of making an exchange AWARD that the proprietors of the common shall give to the Trustees of the Bute Settlement 3 pieces of meadow in Luton, ''A'' 4a. 1r. 14p.; ''B'' 3r. 29p.; and ''C'' 33p.; and the intended scite of the new turnpike road running between ''A'' and ''B'', Trustees of the Bute Settlement to give to the proprietors of the Common 6 pieces of ground in Luton: ''D'' 1r. 34p.; ''E'' 5a. 18p.; ''F'' 2a. 2r. 34p.; ''G'' 1a. 2p.; ''H'' 2r.; ''I'' 39p., and a piece of waste ground adj. the Moor called Broadwater, adj. the highway from Luton to Dunstable. William Clarke of Luton, innholder, owner of cottages and premises in the centre of the Moor, and his tenants are to have free liberty of ingress and egress. The proprietors of the common are represented by John Pates, Luton, cornfactor; William Clarke, Luton, innholder, George Ellars, Luton, plumber and glazier, Wm. Townrow, Luton, innholder, Robert Dimock, Luton, shopkeeper, Charles Hester, Luton, innholder, William Dancer of Luton, higler. signed by Arbitrators Plan.
