- Scope and ContentLine by Miss Curtis. We glad to hear of safe arrival. My going is still uncertain. Mr Peck confines me almost to my chair. We have with us at present the elder Latrobe and his daughter. He is now very infirm. Earthquakes abroad. Second Coming. We find a letter this morning from Thomas. He does not return till Christmas. It seems he has engaged a young man to assist him who is to be ordained at Christmas, so I expect they mean to open a hot fire upon Methodism and Moravianism. Jane has had an attack of ague. John I fear will be no more comfort to me than the other !
