    From: Edward Tewson of Debenham, Tewson, Farmer & Bridgewater, auctioneers, surveyors and land agents of 80 Cheapside, London EC To: Thomas Sworder of Luton [note flimsy paper and faint text make this difficult to read] "Sworder's Brewery I have had two meetings with Mr.Peyer to-day at the first of which he said Mr.Green would not give more than £85,000. At the second meeting he came to increase Mr.Green's offer to £90,000 (he stated that Mr.Green would see him again later on and that he (Mr.Peyer) would probably call upon me a third time) I have, however, just received a letter of which I enclose a copy. Mr.Peyer has made a mistake in saying that I quoted £100,000 all I said after he increased his offer to £90,000 was that if he could go on to £100,000 I thought I should be able to deal with him. It is understood if a sale be made you are to have the option of leaving half the purchase money on mortgage at 4 per cent or, if a Company be formed, of taking Debentures for half the purchase money at 4 per cent at par. Mr.Peyer stated that Mr.Green demurred to your having power to appoint a Director. He thought that your suggestion was that in the event of a Company being formed you should have power to appoint a Trustee for the Debenture Holders. Please wire me to-morrow morning your needs as to this & whether you will in any case insist upon the appointment of a Director. I do not think this would be necessary or usual for as a rule the Debenture Holders have no control in the management of a company or voting power excepting upon questions affecting the debentures. P.S. If you would rather see me than wire your instructions I can keep any appointmentyou may make here at any time tomorrow.
