to Roger Weeden of Luton, collarmaker, and John Rowley of Luton,
scrivener, a mess. in Luton heretofore called the Crosse Keys
being on Chipping Hill, now in own occ. on trusts, i.e. that
if testator's wife Sarah, executrix, cannot pay debts out of
personal estate, then trustees can lease inn to discharge
debts. Then after death of wife, inn to go to 4 daus: Ann,
Susannah, Sarah and Frances, and payments be made to fifth
dau. Elizabeth.

reciting that Judith Cheyne of Luton, widow, and Thos. Cheyne of
London, gent. son and heir of Thos. Cheyne late of Luton, gent. deced.
by an agreement dated 20 Aug 1698 leased to Ric. Gutteridge then of
Luton, maltster, since deced., and John Knoulton of Luton,
cornchandler,
mess. or tent. nr. Luton called Court Close House with orchard
belonging, and piece of pasture called Court Close 3a. on
which house stands
for 9 years at annual rent of £19. 10s. 0d.
