    "Being chosen [Parish] Clarke by Henry Odell, curate", that he holds the house in Horseloe Street commonly known as the Clerk's House by virtue of his office. His mother to dwell gratis in that part of the house on the south side of the gates for life. Miller to keep the house in good repair, and not to cut down any trees without leave of Minister and Churchwardens. Witnesses: Hen: Odell, curate; Geo: Whiskin, Stephen Webster, Churchwardens; Richard Mauldwyn, Overseer of the Poor; Walter Lettice, John Pedley, Nich. Phipp, Alexr. Atkinson, Thos. Halfhyde, Geo. Rugeley, John Hobbs, Thomas Hand, John Haselden, Henry Rugely, Richd. Reade, Wm. Cloake, Thomas Hankin, Wm. Beech, John Tottman, Wm. Rutter, Thomas Compton, John Wilshier, Peter Scott, Samell ? Tompson It is found that Jasper Miller holds of the Lord of the Manor and by vertue of his office as Clarke of ye parish The Cottage wherein he now dwelleth by Fealty suit of Court, and the yearly rent of xii certified: "A true Copie Tho: Halfhyde" 8 April 1656
