Created as a National School in 1838, becoming Public Elementary in 1903, Voluntary Aided County Primary in 1946 and Voluntary Aided Lower on comprehensive reorganisation. Meppershall Lower School closed on 30 June 2013 when the school converted to an academy. Meppershall Church of England Academy opened on 1 July 2013 and closed on 31 March 2021. Reopened as Meppershall Church of England Academy in April 2021 as part of the Poppy Hill Church of England Multi Academy Trust.
