At Bedford some part of the houses were 5' under water; Barford bridge down, as is Shefford; & at Felmersham great damage is done to the new enclosure, the flood having levelled their ditches & fences. It is the greatest flood in the memory of man in this country. P.S.: As wall cannot be rebuilt in time to plant this spring, shall get some apricot trees ready to move later. Transcript available
